Denison Service League

The Denison Service League was founded in 1955 for the purpose of assisting those less fortunate the in Grayson County area. It is run by 100% volunteer efforts of its members. Since its origin, this organization has been able to give back more than a million dollars to the Texoma area, and volunteers have put in more than 360,000 service hours. The Denison Service League members continually conduct service projects throughout each year, and maintain the Bargain Box in downtown Denison. The mission of the service league is to join together with members of the community to support organizations with the same goal of assisting those less fortunate. The Denison Service League has carried on this legacy for over 50 years, and continues to build strong relationships in the Texoma communities. In April of each year, DSL holds a spring luncheon to honor and donate to the recipients of the allocations. Dozens of local charities are chosen by an allocations committee, based on an application process requesting funds.

Dancing with the Stars

What is Dancing With the Stars?
The Competition includes local celebrities that you will recognize. Each celebrity is paired with a professional to perform a dance number. Teams compete for “Most Funds Raised” & the “People’s Choice” awards. Votes for your favorite celebrity will be recorded during the competition. You and your guests will enjoy a delicious catered dinner and after the competition we encourage you to stay and dance the night away.
Denison Service League has a rich fifty-nine year history whose mission is to engage in benevolent, charitable and educational undertakings for the citizens of Grayson County.
Dancing with the Stars is an event staged to support this mission. Money raised will go to provide the basic needs of the underserved children of Grayson County. These children are the silent voices of our community.

Bargain Box

The Bargain Box is the Denison Service League’s main source of revenue for the allocations distributed to charities each year. This retail store is serviced by volunteers and has no paid staff. You can find clothing, shoes, jewelry, books, toys, home goods, and small household appliances in the store. All net proceeds return back into the community for the support of those less fortunate. The store also relies solely on donations to stock shelves with merchandise. You can feel good knowing your purchase at this store recycles right back in support of local charities. The Bargain Box declares every day “Half Price Day,” and has weekly specials to be on the lookout for.
